Driver Accused of Drinking Alcohol With Child in Car Arrested for DUI in Macon

MACON, Ga. – A driver was arrested after a concerned citizen reported seeing the motorist drinking alcohol while a child was inside the vehicle, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy with the sheriff’s H.E.A.T. Unit stopped a Honda Accord along Presidential Parkway after receiving the report.

During the investigation, deputies determined the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver was also found to have no valid insurance and a suspended vehicle registration.

Authorities charged the motorist with DUI endangering a child under 14, along with charges related to driving under the influence, lack of insurance and the suspended registration.
