Douglas Teen Charged with Felony Murder in Shooting Death of 18-Year-Old Woman
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested Prince “PJ” Thomas, 18, of Douglas, Georgia, on charges of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the death of Jameria Studivent, 18, of Blackshear.
On Thursday, August 7, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Studivent was riding in a car with two other people when she was shot while traveling in the 400 block of Miller Road in Douglas. The vehicle drove to Coffee Regional Medical Center, where she received medical care but later died from her injury. The GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in Macon will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Investigators determined that Thomas believed the car Studivent was in appeared suspicious and fired at it from his yard. Authorities said Thomas and another occupant of the vehicle knew each other, but there was no indication of any provocation before the shooting.
After learning law enforcement was searching for him, Thomas turned himself in to authorities. He is being held at the Coffee County Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
