LAFC and Mercer University to Host Free Youth Soccer Clinic in Macon

As part of their participation in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Mercer University will host a free youth soccer clinic in Macon on Wednesday, June 18, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. ET at Five Star Stadium on Mercer’s campus.
The event, designed for 4th through 7th graders, will feature soccer instruction led by Mercer’s Soccer Team and LAFC players and staff. Participants will have the opportunity to build skills, make new friends, and learn lessons that promote growth both on and off the field. The clinic is being offered at no cost, emphasizing LAFC’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to the sport and fostering youth development.
“As the host base for LAFC, we’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with them and integrate this global event into the fabric of Macon,” said Daniel Tate, Deputy Athletic Director for External Operations at Mercer University. “This clinic will give our young players access to world-class soccer training while showcasing Macon’s passion as a true host city for the world’s game.”
“The Black & Gold are truly becoming part of our community and are our hometown team for the Club World Cup,” said Macon-Bibb County Mayor Lester Miller. “This is such a great opportunity for our youth to learn from some of the best soccer players in the world.”
LAFC secured its place as the 32nd and final team in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 by defeating Club América 2-1 in extra time during the Play-In match at BMO Stadium on May 31. The club enters Group D of the tournament and will open play on Monday, June 16, in Atlanta against English Premier League’s Chelsea. LAFC will also face Espérance Sportive de Tunis on June 20 in Nashville and Flamengo of Brazil on June 24 in Orlando.
