GBI Investigating Fatal Shooting in McDuffie County

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating the death of 42-year-old Mario Clemons of Thomson, GA, at the request of the McDuffie County Sheriff’s Office.

The preliminary investigation indicates that on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., McDuffie County deputies and EMS responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 1800 block of Ridgeview Drive in Thomson. Upon arrival, they found Clemons deceased behind the home with a single gunshot wound.

No suspects have been identified or arrested at this time.
