Five Injured in Overnight Shooting at Apartment Complex in Savannah

Chatham County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning, leaving five victims with non-life threatening injuries. At approximately 12:45 a.m. on March 18, 2025, officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired at the Westlake Apartments in Savannah, also affecting nearby Ocho Rios Apartments.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that several buildings and vehicles had been struck by gunfire. One victim, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, was transported by EMS. Shortly afterward, four other victims—three males and two females—arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds, all reported to be non-life threatening. Four of the victims were brought to the hospital by private vehicles.

Detectives believe the incident was not random and that the parties involved were known to each other. The Chatham County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, has been actively investigating the case.
