Sandy Springs Man Sentenced to Life Without Parole Plus 145 Years for Murder, Carjackings, and Officer Shooting

Fortune Jaquan Spencer has been sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 145 years, for the 2020 murder of his girlfriend, Sherika Monique Little, and a series of violent crimes that followed.

On June 6, 2020, Spencer shot and killed Little while she was parked at the Hilton Perimeter Suites. He then proceeded to:

  • Shoot an Atlanta Police Intelligence Officer in an attempted carjacking.
  • Carjack an elderly woman.
  • Crash the stolen vehicle during a pursuit.
  • Attempt to carjack three additional victims.
  • Be struck by a passing motorist and apprehended by Sandy Springs Police.

Following a trial last week, Spencer was found guilty on all 22 counts.

The victims and their families expressed their appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the Sandy Springs Police detectives and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office prosecutors.
