Body Discovered Amidst Rockdale County Missing Person Investigation

UPDATE: The body found in Cornelia, Georgia on February 20, 2025, has been positively identified as Jocelyn Camille Goodwine. Ms. Goodwine was reported missing out of Rockdale County, Georgia on February 17, 2025. After a thorough investigation, Lee Daffin has been arrested and charged with the murder of Ms. Goodwine.

On February 18, 2025, at approximately 5:20 PM, the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) responded to a welfare check in the 1100 block of Bethel Road, Conyers, Georgia. Initial attempts to contact the individual were unsuccessful.

On February 19, 2025, RCSO received additional information which led investigators to believe that there was potential foul play associated with the reported missing person case. RCSO personnel began investigating the case and secured enough evidence to label Lee Daffin as a person of interest. With the help of local agencies, Daffin was apprehended in Stephens County after a brief vehicle pursuit.

Further investigation has led RCSO to the discovery of a body. The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office is still in the process of obtaining confirmation as to the identity of the body.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.

Lee Daffin has been charged with Aggravated Assault (F) and Terroristic Threats and Acts (F). Additional charges may be added based on the results of the investigation.
