Man Found Covered in Blood Leads Deputies to Drug Bust in Franklin County

Franklin County deputies arrested two individuals after responding to a welfare check on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, that led to the discovery of drugs and an attempted escape.

Initial Welfare Check

On the afternoon of February 18, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a white male covered in blood in the yard of a residence on Highway 106 in the Red Hill Community. Deputies arrived and found signs of forced entry and blood throughout the residence. The injured male, the female resident, and her vehicle were missing. Various controlled substances were found inside the home.

Search and Arrest

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division launched an investigation while deputies searched for the missing individuals. They located the vehicle, the male, and the female at a camper on a nearby property. The female was unharmed. When deputies attempted a welfare check, both individuals attempted to flee and obstruct law enforcement. Controlled substances were also found in the camper.

Tanner Scott Christian was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
  • Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers (2 counts)
  • Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Drug-Related Objects
  • Prescription Drugs Must Be in Original Container
  • Possession of Marijuana

Ashli Jo Pruitt was arrested and charged with:

  • Crossing the Guard Line
  • Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officers

Authorities stated that additional charges may be forthcoming. The investigation is ongoing.
