17-Year-Old Injured in Vine City Park Shooting, Police Investigating

On December 24, 2024, at approximately 10:39 p.m., Atlanta Police officers responded to Grady Memorial Hospital at 80 Jesse Hill Junior Drive SE regarding a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his left foot. The teen was in stable condition and was receiving treatment from medical personnel.

Preliminary investigations suggest the incident occurred near 609 Thurmond Street NW at Rodney Cook Sr. Park in the Vine City area. Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.
