Two Arrested Following Traffic Stop, Pursuit, and Drug Seizure in Glynn County

Two individuals were arrested early Tuesday morning following a traffic stop and foot pursuit near Perry Lane and Cate Road, according to the Glynn County Police Department (GCPD).

At approximately 4 a.m., GCPD Officer Jonathan Miller stopped a Chevrolet Malibu with a man, woman, and child inside. The male passenger, identified as Michael Jason, fled the scene on foot. Officer Miller pursued Jason, deploying a taser to subdue him before making the arrest.

A search of the vehicle uncovered 17.4 grams of fentanyl, 17.9 grams of marijuana, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine, and a digital scale. Jason was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and cruelty to children in the third degree. Authorities also discovered an outstanding warrant for Jason’s arrest.

The child’s mother, who remained in the vehicle, faces multiple charges, including cruelty to children in the third degree.
