Isaac Thompson

DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston announced the conviction of Isaac Thompson, 24, for the murder of Aquandis Foston, 22, during an argument on February 20, 2021, in Stone Mountain. Jurors found Thompson guilty of Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

The incident began when Foston was invited by Thompson’s girlfriend, Co-Defendant Makayla Bolston, to meet at a townhouse in the 5700 block of Wells Circle. Upon arrival, Foston was confronted by Thompson and another unidentified man, who ordered him to leave. When Foston refused, demanding to speak with Bolston, Thompson drew a gun and shot him in the chest.

DeKalb County Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:35 p.m. and found Foston unconscious. Witnesses and phone records confirmed Bolston’s role in arranging the meeting, leading to her indictment on charges including Malice Murder and Felony Murder in August 2021. Her case remains pending.

Thompson was sentenced to Life Without the Possibility of Parole, plus five years, by Superior Court Judge Yolanda Parker-Smith. The case was handled by the Homicide and Gangs Unit with Senior Assistant District Attorneys Andrew Turner and Helen Pott prosecuting, assisted by DA Investigator A. Zachary and Victim Advocate Kaysha Albritton. DeKalb Police Det. D. Evans led the initial investigation.
