12-Year-Old Student Arrested for Bringing Toy Gun to Newton County Middle School
On October 28, 2024, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a 12-year-old male student from Liberty Middle School for bringing a toy gun onto campus. The juvenile has been charged with possession of a weapon in a school safety zone, classified as a felony. The case will be forwarded to the Juvenile Court System for further proceedings.
