Delta Air Lines Becomes Official Airline of the WNBA
Delta Air Lines has announced a new agreement to become the official airline of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). This agreement expands on Delta’s existing charter relationship with the league and reflects the airline’s continued commitment to women’s athletics.
Under the expanded multi-year deal, Delta will carry all 12 WNBA teams throughout the regular season and playoffs. Delta will also work with the WNBA to create unique content highlighting the athletes’ journeys and Delta’s role in providing an elevated travel experience.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian stated, “We’re proud to partner with the WNBA, where every game is a testament to our shared values of teamwork and perseverance. We look forward to serving these incredible athletes on their journeys and furthering Delta’s support of women’s athletics.”
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert added, “Delta Air Lines shares the league’s commitment to excellence and innovation and is a dedicated partner in the work to uplift and empower women’s sports. This partnership not only elevates the travel experience for the players but also underscores Delta and the WNBA’s shared dedication to enhancing the growth and visibility of women’s sports.”
Delta’s expanded WNBA charter program began this season with the league introducing a full charter program. The airline will leverage travel-related storytelling opportunities through various WNBA media channels including broadcast, digital, print, and social media. Delta will also promote the WNBA and its players’ travel stories through its own digital and social media platforms.
This agreement is part of Delta’s broader focus on supporting women’s sports, including its roles as the Official Airline of the National Women’s Soccer League and Team USA for upcoming Olympic Games. Delta has also been the Official Airline of 75 championship teams across various sports leagues since 2000, including the 2023 WNBA Champions, the Las Vegas Aces.
