Nexstar’s Augusta Station Joins The CW Network

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: NXST) has announced that its television stations in Augusta, Georgia (WJBF-D3 DMA #110); Monroe, Louisiana (KARD-D2 DMA #142); Wichita Falls, Texas (KFDX-D3 DMA #149); Terre Haute, Indiana (WTWO-D2 DMA #159); and Utica, New York (WFXV-D2 DMA #171) will become affiliates of The CW Network.

Beginning in September and October, these stations will air The CW’s primetime entertainment, live sports, and special event programming. This expansion will increase the number of Nexstar- and partner-owned CW stations to 54, covering over 45% of U.S. TV households.

Andrew Alford, president of Nexstar’s broadcasting division, highlighted the benefits of this affiliation, noting that Nexstar is now the largest affiliate group for The CW. He emphasized the addition of high-profile programming such as NASCAR Xfinity series racing, WWE’s NXT, LIV Golf, ACC college football and basketball, and PAC 12 football.

The CW offers programming in 100% of U.S. households and provides 500 hours of sports content per year. The CW App, which is available on major platforms, streams live sports, primetime programming, and a library of films and TV shows.
