Shooting at Knights Inn: Two Arrested, Including Deceased’s Girlfriend

On July 27, 2024, at approximately 7:53 A.M., officers responded to the Knights Inn regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, they found James Edward Murphy III, 27, with a gunshot wound. Video surveillance provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle involved.

During the search, officers located the suspect’s vehicle at a residence in Lee County. Tyler Allison, 19, was seen attempting to flee on foot from the back door of the residence. After a brief chase, he was apprehended inside a vacant house and taken into custody.

Charde’shay Jourdian King, 28, the deceased’s girlfriend, was transported from the hotel to the Law Enforcement Center. The investigation revealed that the shooting stemmed from an attempted armed robbery arranged through a site called Listcrawler.

Tyler Allison was charged with felony murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and armed robbery. He was transported to the Dougherty County Jail. Allison was out on bond for a previous aggravated assault at the time of the incident.

Charde’shay Jourdian King was charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit a crime, and prostitution. She was also transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
