Police Arrest Individual for Vandalizing Churches in Buford

The Gwinnett County Police Department has apprehended an individual responsible for vandalizing multiple churches in Buford. On July 9, officers from the North precinct responded to reports of property damage at several local places of worship. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect using a tool to break windows at four different churches.

Utilizing Flock cameras in the area, officers from the Community Response Team identified the suspect’s vehicle and subsequently located David Rangel, 41, of Hoschton. Rangel was arrested without incident and transported to the Gwinnett County Jail.

David Rangel faces charges including four counts of vandalism to a place of worship, four counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree, and four counts of possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
