Copa América Watch Party to Kick Off at MARTA’s West End Station

Atlanta soccer fans are gearing up for the Copa América with a special watch party hosted by the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) and Soccer in the Streets. The event, set to take place at West End Station, will celebrate the start of the international men’s soccer tournament.

The Copa América begins Thursday, June 20, with an opening match between Argentina and Canada at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, featuring star player Lionel Messi from Major League Soccer (MLS). The watch party at West End Station promises to be a free, family-friendly affair, complete with a large screen for live match viewing, food trucks, music, and games.

“We’re thrilled to bring the community together to enjoy world-class soccer,” said MARTA’s General Manager and CEO Collie Greenwood. “This event is just the beginning, especially with Atlanta set to host eight matches during the 2026 World Cup.”

Soccer in the Streets Executive Director Elijah Miranda echoed the excitement, stating, “We’re dedicated to making soccer accessible to everyone in our communities. This watch party, in partnership with MARTA and other sponsors, is a step towards uniting Atlanta with the global soccer stage.”

Attendees are encouraged to take MARTA to West End Station due to limited parking. The event kicks off at 7:00 p.m., with the match starting at 8:00 p.m. For more information and RSVPs, visit media@itsmarta.com.

Since launching StationSoccer in 2016, MARTA has integrated soccer into its transit system, with pitches now at multiple stations, including West End. The initiative aims to create a soccer league easily accessible by public transportation, fostering community engagement and sports participation.
