Cobb County Judge Ann Harris Assumes Presidency of Council of Superior Court Judges

Judge Ann Harris of the Cobb Judicial Circuit in Marietta has been appointed as the President of the Council of Superior Court Judges. Joining her in leadership roles are President-Elect Superior Court Judge Richard “Bert” Guy Jr. of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit and Secretary-Treasurer Superior Court Judge B. Chan Caudell of the Mountain Judicial Circuit. Their terms will continue until April 30, 2025.

Judge Harris has served on the Superior Court since July 2014, with re-elections in 2018 and 2022. She oversees various cases, including criminal, domestic, and civil matters, and leads Cobb County’s Mental Health and Parental Accountability Courts. Additionally, she has collaborated with the Republic of Georgia to bolster their judicial system. Before her tenure as a judge, Harris worked as an assistant district attorney for 19 years, contributing to the drafting of Georgia’s human trafficking laws.

Harris holds a law degree from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University. She is active in charitable work, having recently chaired the Board of Directors of MUST Ministries, aiding homeless and struggling families. Harris resides in Smyrna with her husband Jim and their two rescue dogs, Bert & Willie.
