Human Remains Found Inside Burned Shed in Macon, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigating

MACON, Ga. – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after firefighters discovered human remains inside a burned shed early Tuesday morning, September 15th.

The fire at a property on Barbara Drive was reported to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center shortly before 3 a.m. The Bibb County Fire Department responded to the structure fire and discovered the remains inside the shed.

An arson investigator and Bibb County Deputy Coroner Richard Robinson responded to the scene. Robinson pronounced the person dead.

Authorities have not identified the deceased. The cause and manner of death also have not been determined.

The sheriff’s office did not release the location of the shed or say whether investigators have found any evidence indicating how the fire started.
