15-Year-Old Female Charged After Firearm Incident at Decatur High School
On Friday, May 3, 2024, at around 9:41 am, Decatur Police responded to an incident involving a firearm at Decatur High School.
According to authorities, two Decatur High School students confronted two other students on campus, expressing a desire to fight. One of the students displayed a revolver handgun, prompting the targeted students to flee towards the school’s parking lot. A confrontation ensued, during which the suspect pointed the handgun at one of the victims.
The victim managed to push the weapon away as a single round was fired, fortunately resulting in no injuries.
Subsequently, the suspect, a 15-year-old female, was identified and apprehended. The juvenile now faces charges including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon on school property, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18.
