Albany Man Arrested for Rape and Child Molestation, More Victims Found
On March 26, 2024, Sterling Maurice Murphy Sr was arrested on the charges of Rape and Aggravated Child Molestation.
After the arrest, the Albany Police Department’s Family Protection Unit received information about the possibility of more victims of different acts involving Murphy. After following up on those tips and after several interviews, including interviewing Murphy himself, additional charges have been added.
The additional charges are as follows:
- 2 additional counts of Aggravated Child Molestation
- 3 counts of Felony Solicitation of Sodomy
Murphy remains in the Dougherty County Jail.
