Atlanta Police Investigate Shooting of 3-Year-Old in Vine City Are

On March 31, 2024, around 6:13 p.m., Atlanta Police Zone 1 officers responded to reports of a shooting near Vine St. NW & Thurmond St. NW in the Vine City area, specifically Rodney Cook Sr Park.

Upon arrival, officers found a 3-year-old victim with a graze wound. The child was taken to the hospital by ambulance, and is reported to be alert, conscious, and breathing.

Investigators from the Aggravated Assault Unit are actively looking into the incident to ascertain its circumstances. The investigation is ongoing.
