Albany Police Needs Help in 2023 Aggravated Assault Turned Homicide Case After Victim Dies

The Albany Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in obtaining any information related to an aggravated assault that occurred in the 500 block of Dorsett Ave on January 18, 2023. Bilal Sutton was the victim of this assault, which resulted in him being shot and subsequently paralyzed.

Sutton passed away in December 2023. Following an autopsy, the results determined on July 2, 2024, that his death was ruled a homicide. Consequently, this incident has now been reclassified as a homicide.
