Convicted Felon Arrested After Clayton County Deputies Seize Crack Cocaine, Marijuana and Firearm During

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A proactive traffic stop by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office’s COBRA Unit resulted in the seizure of dozens of individually packaged narcotics and a firearm, according to Sheriff Levon Allen.

The arrest occurred on the night of June 17, 2026, while members of the sheriff’s Elite COBRA Unit were conducting proactive patrol operations in Clayton County.

During the traffic stop, deputies discovered 65 individually packaged baggies of suspected crack cocaine, marijuana and a firearm, authorities said.

Investigators also determined the driver was a convicted felon with a prior conviction for distributing crack cocaine.

The sheriff’s office did not release the suspect’s identity or specify the charges filed following the arrest.

Sheriff Allen praised the efforts of the specialized unit, emphasizing the importance of proactive policing in reducing crime and removing dangerous contraband from the community.

“This is exactly why proactive policing matters,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Every illegal firearm recovered and every bag of narcotics taken off the street is one less threat to the safety and well-being of our community.”

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to combating drug trafficking, removing illegal weapons from the streets and enhancing public safety throughout the county.
