Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Marietta Intersection Crash

MARIETTA, Georgia – The Marietta Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program is investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist Wednesday night in Marietta.

Police said the collision happened just before 9:30 p.m. on May 20 at the intersection of Powder Springs Street and Sandtown Road.

According to investigators, a 2015 Hyundai Elantra driven by 59-year-old Kelvin McLemore of Marietta was traveling northbound on Powder Springs Street and attempting to turn left into a private drive at 692 Powder Springs St.

At the same time, a 2026 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 19-year-old Kether Hernandez of Austell was traveling southbound through the intersection.

Investigators said the motorcycle and car collided in the middle of the intersection, causing serious injuries to Hernandez.

Hernandez was transported to a hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Authorities said no charges have been filed at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
