LaGrange Resident in Custody After Digital Investigation Uncovers Child Sexual Abuse Material
LAGRANGE, GA — A 37-year-old Troup County man was taken into custody Tuesday morning following an investigation into the possession of illegal digital material. Jeremy Collins, of LaGrange, was arrested on April 28, 2026, and charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children.
The investigation began earlier this month after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) issued a “Cybertip” regarding a resident potentially possessing child sexual assault material. Investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, who are assigned to the Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, led the probe.
Arrest and Investigation
Following the tip, authorities gathered forensic evidence linking the digital activity to Collins. On Tuesday, investigators executed an arrest warrant and took Collins into custody without incident.
According to Troup County jail records, Collins was booked just after 12:00 p.m. and is currently being held without bond.
Multi-Agency Efforts
The arrest marks another successful operation for the Georgia ICAC Task Force, a statewide network of law enforcement agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting high-tech crimes against minors.
The Troup County Sheriff’s Office noted that while an arrest has been made, the investigation remains active as digital forensic experts continue to review seized evidence. No further details regarding the specific nature of the material have been released to protect the integrity of the ongoing case.
