Floyd County Police Seek Aragon Man in Death of 35-Year-Old Rome Woman After Pedestrian Crash

ROME, Ga. – Floyd County Police are searching for a 32-year-old Aragon man wanted in connection with the death of a Rome woman following a pedestrian-vehicle collision early Saturday morning.

The Floyd County Police Department identified the woman who died as Stevie Marie Thompson, 35, of Rome.

Police have identified Drake Ladon Keef, 32, of Aragon, as the suspect in the ongoing investigation. Authorities said active warrants have been issued for Keef’s arrest in connection with the case.

The incident occurred between approximately midnight and 1 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the area of Chulio Road and Cole Road.

Police described the incident as a pedestrian-versus-vehicle collision but have released few details about the circumstances surrounding Thompson’s death or what investigators allege Keef did.

The department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating.

Police Ask for Help Locating Keef

Authorities are asking anyone who knows Keef’s whereabouts to contact E-911 or submit an anonymous tip through the Floyd County Police Department Crime Line at 706-236-5000.

Police are also seeking witnesses or anyone with information about the collision itself.

Those with information about what happened on Chulio Road near Cole Road between midnight and 1 a.m. on Aug. 22 are asked to contact Investigator Camron Roubieu at 706-235-7766 or camron.roubieu@floydcountyga.org.

Because the investigation remains active, police said additional details about Thompson’s death and the warrants against Keef are not being released at this time.

Keef is wanted on active warrants but has not been convicted of charges related to this case.
