Athens Man Arrested for Murder After Body Found in Tent Near Hull Road

ATHENS, Ga. — A man has been arrested and charged with murder after police found a body inside a tent earlier this month, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.

Officers discovered the body around 9:07 a.m. April 17, 2026, while responding to an unrelated call in the area of Hull Road and Danielsville Road.

The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Rodney Alford of Athens.

Detectives said the death was determined to be suspicious following further investigation.

On April 24, 2026, police obtained warrants and arrested 30-year-old Joshua Robert White of Athens in connection with the case.

White has been charged with malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.

Authorities said the investigation remains active.
