Prep School Coach in Baldwin County Arrested for Having Sexual Contact with Minor

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – On Tuesday, April 24th, the Georgia Military College Police Department contacted the GBI to request their help in an investigation into 24-year-old Michael Talton Lee Barnes of Haddock, GA. Barnes is a former Physical Education teacher and coach at the prep school. An accusation was made against Barnes of inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

The GBI investigation revealed that Barnes was having sexual contact with a minor at a local church in Milledgeville. As a result, he was arrested and charged with four counts of Child Molestation and one count of Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes.

Barnes was booked into the Baldwin County Jail where he remains in-custody.

The school said that Barnes was fired as soon as they learned of the allegations.
