ALBANY, Ga. – An Albany man is facing multiple additional charges following an investigation that began with a reported sexual battery incident at a local hospital, according to the Albany Police Department.

Police said Stevie Bernard Richardson, 36, was initially booked on a charge of sexual battery. Investigators later added several charges, including three counts of public indecency, three counts of criminal trespass, and two counts of cruelty to children.

On Feb. 1, Albany police asked for the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a sexual battery reported at Phoebe North, located at 2000 Palmyra Road. Authorities said the suspect was later identified as Richardson.

Following that incident, police said Richardson committed an additional offense at Fun Park on North Slappey Boulevard, where he was observed engaging in an indecent act in public.

Richardson was taken into custody on Feb. 2, 2026, and transported to the Dougherty County Jail.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges may be filed.
