GBI Arrests Jackson Man on Felony Murder Charge in Forsyth Apartment Shooting

FORSYTH, Georgia – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Jackson man in connection with a fatal shooting at an apartment complex in Forsyth, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Roderious Laquantez Goodrum, 32, of Jackson, has been charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the death of Gregory Quentez Middlebrooks, 29, of Forsyth.

Investigators said the shooting occurred on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at the Forsyth Gardens Apartments. Preliminary findings indicate Goodrum and Middlebrooks were involved in an argument when Goodrum allegedly shot Middlebrooks, killing him.

Middlebrooks was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries. No additional details about the circumstances of the shooting have been released.
