Trenton Man Arrested Hours After Two Men Found Shot Outside Dade County Home

TRENTON, Ga. – A 28-year-old Trenton man was arrested Monday night, hours after two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds outside a Dade County home, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Colbin Quinn Davis was taken into custody by law enforcement at about 8:45 p.m. Sept. 29 and booked into the Dade County Jail. The GBI had obtained warrants charging Davis with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.

The investigation began around 10:30 a.m. when Dade County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a home in the 400 block of Michael’s Road following a report that a man had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they found two men outside the home with apparent gunshot wounds, according to the GBI. Both were transported to a regional hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not released the victims’ names or information about their conditions.

During the investigation, agents identified Davis as the suspected shooter and obtained aggravated assault warrants for his arrest. Authorities warned that Davis should be considered armed and dangerous as law enforcement searched for him.

The U.S. Marshals Service offered a $4,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Davis was captured approximately 10 hours after deputies were initially called to the shooting scene.

Authorities did not provide details about where Davis was arrested, what led investigators to him or whether the reward played a role in his capture.

The GBI is investigating the shooting at the request of the Dade County Sheriff’s Office. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
