Suspect Sought After Morning Robbery at Macon Credit Union
MACON, Ga. – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of robbing a credit union Tuesday morning after handing a teller a note demanding money.
Deputies responded at 8:59 a.m. to the Central Georgia Regional Credit Union at 2040 Ingleside Avenue after the robbery was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center.
Investigators said a man entered the credit union and approached a teller before sliding over a note demanding money. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspect then left the credit union on foot and headed east toward Riverside Drive.
No injuries were reported.
The sheriff’s office described the suspect as a white man with black hair who was wearing glasses, an orange sweater and a black T-shirt. Investigators released an image of the suspect captured by the credit union’s surveillance system.
The investigation remains in its early stages, and authorities have not announced the amount of money taken or identified a suspect.
