DeKalb County Police Seize 17 Firearms, Drugs in Flint Avenue Narcotics Raid
DEKALB COUNTY, Georgia – Officers with the DeKalb County Police Department executed a major narcotics and weapons search warrant Thursday, January 29, 2026, at a residence on Flint Avenue in Ellenwood, GA, following information about illegal activity in the area.
The operation was led by the department’s Narcotics & Vice Unit and DeKalb HIDTA, with assistance from SWAT, STEP, and uniformed officers. During a thorough search of the residence, officers recovered approximately 17 firearms, including ghost guns, rifles, and handguns, along with armor-piercing ammunition.
Authorities said several individuals attempted to flee the scene as officers arrived. Multiple suspects were quickly detained without incident.
In addition to the weapons, investigators located a variety of illegal narcotics, including ecstasy, marijuana, alprazolam, promethazine, and mushrooms, as well as U.S. currency.
Police said the investigation remains active and additional charges are expected as detectives continue to review evidence and interview those involved.
Department officials emphasized that operations like this are key to removing illegal firearms from neighborhoods and reducing the risk of violent crime, crediting the coordinated effort and professionalism of all units involved.
