One Dead, One Injured After Late-Night House Fire in Paulding County

A late-night house fire in Dallas, Georgia, claimed the life of a man and left a woman hospitalized on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Paulding County Fire & Rescue units were dispatched around 9:21 p.m. to a reported structure fire with possible entrapment at 110 Flagler Way. The Dallas Police Department arrived first and helped a woman escape the burning home before firefighters reached the scene.

When crews arrived minutes later at 9:28 p.m., they found heavy smoke and flames with confirmation that a male resident was still trapped inside. Firefighters from Engine 1 and Squad 1 entered the home under dangerous conditions and quickly located the man, who was confined to a wheelchair. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was treated for burns and smoke inhalation before being transported by Metro EMS to Wellstar Cobb Hospital.

Firefighters remained on scene until about 2 a.m., conducting overhaul and supporting the investigation. Multiple agencies assisted, including the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Metro EMS, Paulding County Coroner’s Office, and the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office, which is investigating the cause.

“Our hearts go out to the family affected by this tragic incident,” said Fire Chief Garrett Brubaker. “Our firefighters acted swiftly and courageously, but the conditions made rescue efforts extremely challenging. We are grateful for the coordinated efforts of all agencies involved.”

No additional details have been released pending the outcome of the investigation.
