Stepfather Killed in Marietta Domestic Dispute; Stepson Sought by Police
MARIETTA, Ga. – Marietta Police are searching for 26-year-old Pharron Carlos Banks in connection with a fatal domestic shooting that occurred Monday evening.
Officers were dispatched to 13 Ridge Run, Apartment C, just before 6:30 p.m. on October 27 following reports of a heated domestic dispute between a stepfather and stepson. While officers were en route, dispatchers received additional reports of gunfire.
When officers arrived, they found 58-year-old Michael Jackson inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Banks fled the scene before officers arrived, leaving in a black Nissan Rogue with Georgia tag number SLI6424. A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert was issued, and with the help of the Atlanta Police Department and license plate reader technology, investigators later located the vehicle unoccupied on John Hope Drive in Atlanta. The vehicle has been recovered for processing.
Detectives have obtained warrants for Banks, charging him with Homicide – Murder (Felony), Aggravated Assault Weapon (Felony), and Cruelty to Child in the Third Degree.
Banks is described as being 6 feet 5 inches tall and approximately 160 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
