Marietta Police Investigating Fatal Head-On Collision on Powder Springs Street

MARIETTA, Ga. — A man was killed and several others injured Saturday morning in a head-on crash on Powder Springs Street, according to the Marietta Police Department.

The crash happened around 6:42 a.m. near Laurel Springs Lane. Investigators said 18-year-old Keondre Robinson of Mableton was driving a 2007 Lexus RX350 northbound when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle entered the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 32-year-old Santiago Zarate-Vicente of Chicago.

The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles. Robinson and two passengers from the Silverado were taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Zarate-Vicente died at the scene.
