24 Arrested in Major Drug Trafficking Bust in Gwinnett County

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga.—A large-scale operation led by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has resulted in the arrest of 24 people in connection with a major fentanyl drug trafficking organization.
The GBI’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO) and the Gwinnett Metro Task Force (GMTF), along with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), executed five search warrants in the Buford area, targeting a drug trafficking organization (DTO) allegedly led by Adrian Bernard Butler, 38.
The investigation, which is described as the first phase of a “lengthy investigation,” revealed that the DTO is responsible for trafficking kilograms of fentanyl, cocaine, and crack cocaine throughout Gwinnett County and northeast Georgia. The organization’s activities are also linked to several ongoing fentanyl overdose death investigations.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine, ounces of fentanyl, ounces of crack cocaine, multiple pounds of marijuana, and eight firearms.
The following individuals were arrested and face charges ranging from trafficking and RICO violations to conspiracy and drug possession:

The GBI stated that the investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
