Nonstop Flights from Macon to Fort Lauderdale Begin October 16 via Spirit Airlines

Macon-Bibb County officials announced Thursday that Spirit Airlines will begin offering nonstop passenger air service from Middle Georgia Regional Airport (MCN) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starting October 16, 2025.
The new route will provide travelers with direct access to South Florida and expanded connectivity to dozens of additional destinations, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Chicago. Passengers can also connect to cruise lines heading to the Caribbean and use train service to reach cities like Miami, Orlando, and West Palm Beach.
Introductory one-way fares begin at $49.99 and are available now at spirit.com.
“South Florida has consistently been one of the most popular destinations for travelers in our region, and we’re excited to offer nonstop service to this top destination through Spirit Airlines,” said Airport Director Doug Faour.
“This is just another major step in providing services through our airport to a wide variety of people and businesses,” said Mayor Lester Miller. “Our airport is a major economic and tourism engine for Middle Georgia.”
Spirit will operate an Airbus A320 family aircraft for the route. The plane features 176 seats, including 8 Big Front Seats, making it the largest aircraft ever used for scheduled passenger service at MCN.
“We look forward to offering travelers in Middle Georgia new nonstop flights and affordable fares to our FLL gateway,” said John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines.
