Twin City Woman Found Dead, Husband Dies by Suicide After Police Chase

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is investigating the death of 27-year-old Zaria Khadejah Carr of Twin City, Georgia, following a domestic disturbance on June 14, 2025.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers from the Twin City Police Department and the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in the 100 block of 5th Avenue. When law enforcement arrived, they found Zaria Carr unconscious. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities were unable to locate Zaria’s husband, 36-year-old Shamarcus Jameal Carr, or her 2021 Dodge Challenger. An alert was issued for the vehicle.

Just after 11:00 p.m., the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. Shamarcus Carr, who was inside the vehicle, shot himself. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Shamarcus Carr’s death. The GBI’s Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of Zaria Carr’s death.
