Georgia Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Family

Aliakbar Mohammad Amin, 24, of Lilburn, Georgia, has been arrested and charged with transmitting interstate threats to injure Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard and her family.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie, Jr., and information presented in court, Amin allegedly sent threatening text messages between March 29 and April 1, 2025, including statements such as “You and your family are going to die soon,” “I will personally do the job if necessary,” and “Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear. America will burn.”
Federal agents also discovered similar threats allegedly made by Amin on social media, including images of firearms pointed at photographs of DNI Gabbard and her husband. During a search of Amin’s residence, agents recovered a firearm.
“Threatening to harm public officials is a criminal act that cannot be excused as political discourse,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie, Jr. “Our Office, in coordination with our law enforcement partners, will vigorously prosecute individuals who commit these acts of violence.”
Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta, added, “The FBI sees all threatening communications as a serious federal offense. We will employ every investigative tool and resource available to identify those responsible and ensure they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Let this arrest serve as a clear warning: if you engage in this kind of criminal behavior, you will be caught and you will go to prison.”
Amin was charged on April 11, 2025, with a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 875(c) and has been ordered detained pending trial. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is conducting the ongoing investigation.
