Rapper Quez 2RR Pleads Guilty to Possessing Machinegun in Hospital; Linked to Metro Atlanta Shooting Investigation

A Henry County man who was found with a stolen Glock handgun modified to function as a machinegun inside the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital has pleaded guilty to federal firearms charges.

Terrell Monquez Searcy, 21, of McDonough, Georgia, who performs under the name Quez 2RR, pleaded guilty on March 20 to one count of possession of a machinegun before U.S. District Judge Tilman E. “Tripp” Self. Sentencing is scheduled for June 4, 2025, in Athens.

According to court documents, Monroe Police Department officers were called to Piedmont Walton Hospital on Aug. 17, 2023, after a nurse saw Searcy with a handgun, which is prohibited in the hospital. Hospital security responded, and Searcy admitted he had placed the firearm—a Glock Model 17 9mm handgun with a loaded 30-round extended magazine—under the couch cushion. Security officers observed that the gun had a full auto sear pin attached, converting it into a machinegun, and notified police. Authorities later determined that the firearm had been reported stolen in Walton County, Georgia.

ATF agents tested the firearm and confirmed it was fully automatic. Investigators also discovered that Searcy had showcased a firearm with an illegal conversion device in YouTube music videos. In one video, titled “Traffic,” Searcy referenced adding a “switch” to his Glock and appeared to display a firearm with a machinegun conversion device.

Following Searcy’s indictment in August 2024, federal agents uncovered Instagram messages between Searcy and a Clayton County police officer. Between January and March 2023, Searcy allegedly asked the officer to check for warrants in his name. The officer also provided him with details about an active homicide investigation. During an interview with Clayton County Police detectives, the officer admitted to supplying Searcy with information regarding active warrants and the homicide case.

On Feb. 11, 2025, federal agents and local law enforcement executed a search warrant at Searcy’s McDonough residence. Searcy and two other men were inside, along with multiple firearms. Searcy admitted to sleeping with a Draco firearm under his bed and claimed ownership of a Glock 17 found in the living room. Test fires submitted to the National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) linked a Micro Draco recovered from his bedroom to multiple shooting incidents in DeKalb County, including a drive-by shooting that injured four people, two of them juveniles.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) led the investigation, with assistance from the City of Monroe Police Department, Clayton County Police Department, McDonough Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Police Department, and Piedmont Walton Hospital Security.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Peach is prosecuting the case.
