Alabama Man Turns Himself In After Deadly Shooting at Marietta Shopping Plaza

The Cobb County Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Windy Hill Village shopping plaza, located at 2359 Windy Hill Road in Marietta, on February 5, 2025.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:42 a.m. and discovered Jabril Blount, 21, of Roswell, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Blount was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Eric Townsend, 53, of Alabama, turned himself in to the Smyrna Police Department. He was later transferred to Cobb County authorities and has been charged with Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault.
