Walmart Employees Arrested After Firearm Discharge in Covington Parking Lot
On October 23, 2024, deputies from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of the Walmart on Salem Road in Covington, Georgia. The incident stemmed from an altercation between two Walmart employees, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
Two suspects were apprehended at the scene. Eric Webb, 42, and Howard Williams, 47, both residents of Covington, were taken into custody. They face multiple charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, and reckless conduct.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
