Gunfire Erupts in Venetian Hills, Two Men Shot in Late-Night Attack

At approximately 1:05 a.m. on September 24, 2024, Atlanta Police Zone 4 officers were dispatched to a shooting incident at 1469 Campbellton Rd. SW in the Venetian Hills area. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victims had already left the scene.

While investigating, officers were informed that one of the victims had been located at 1829 Campbellton Rd. SW. Upon arrival, officers found a 65-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds but was alert, conscious, and breathing. Additionally, law enforcement learned that a second victim, a 33-year-old male, had arrived at Grady Hospital via private vehicle, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was reported to be in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the two men were inside the residence at 1469 Campbellton Rd. SW when multiple suspects fired shots into the building from outside.

Investigators have been dispatched to the scene to gather further information about the circumstances of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
