COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. — A former deputy with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested following a multi-year investigation into misconduct allegations, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities said Chris Ashley Rozar, 49, of Douglas, was taken into custody May 5 after the investigation concluded. The case began about two years ago when a woman reported allegations that Rozar had been stalking her, along with other claims of misconduct.

At the time the allegations surfaced, then-Sheriff Doyle Wooten requested the GBI conduct an independent investigation. Rozar was subsequently terminated from his position with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.

Following the investigation, Rozar was charged with multiple offenses, including four counts of violation of oath by a public officer, two counts of computer invasion of privacy, and one count each of prohibited use of captured license plate data and stalking.

Officials said Rozar will now proceed through the judicial process. As with all criminal cases, he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to accountability and transparency, noting that allegations involving sworn personnel are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.

Sheriff Cole said the agency will continue to prioritize integrity and professionalism in serving the community.
