Man Charged With Murder in Bloomingdale Woman’s Shooting Death on Easter Sunday
BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a woman earlier this month, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The case began around 12:50 a.m. April 5, 2026, when officers with the Bloomingdale Police Department responded to a home in the 300 block of Cypress Street after a 911 caller reported a woman had been shot.
Officers arrived and found the victim, later identified as 39-year-old Paige LeAnn Lewis of Savannah, inside the home with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The GBI was requested to assist with the investigation, and Lewis’ body was transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Pooler for an autopsy.
Following the investigation, agents arrested 41-year-old Robert Allen Johnson of Midville in Burke County. He has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence.
Authorities said Johnson turned himself in to the Bloomingdale Police Department and was booked into the Chatham County Jail.
Lewis is survived by her 13-year-old son.
