Two 3-Year-Old Children Die After Drowning Incident in Crisp County

CORDELE, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after two young children died following a drowning incident at a residence Wednesday morning.

Crisp County 911 received a call around 11:01 a.m. April 22, 2026, reporting a drowning at a home on Aberdeen Circle.

First responders from multiple agencies arrived and found two 3-year-old children in need of emergency care.

Crews administered life-saving measures at the scene before both children were transported to Crisp Regional Hospital, where they later died.

Officials have not released the identities of the children.

As is standard procedure in cases involving child deaths, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been requested to assist with the investigation.

Authorities said the case remains active, and no additional details are being released at this time.

Officials also acknowledged the agencies that responded, including the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Cordele Fire Department, Crisp County Fire Department, Crisp County EMS, Crisp Regional Hospital, the Crisp County Coroner’s Office and CAAA Security.
