Victim Airlifted After Shooting at Jesup Apartment Complex; Police Seeking Leads

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Jesup Police officers responded to a shooting at Briarwood Apartments, located at 1201 South 1st Street. When officers arrived, they found a man in the breezeway of Building C with a gunshot wound to his torso. Officers provided immediate medical aid until EMS arrived.

The victim was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Memorial Medical Center, a Level I trauma facility, for advanced care.

Police secured the area and reviewed surveillance footage, which helped investigators identify several people who were in the area at the time of the shooting. Detectives are continuing to develop leads, and the case remains active.
