Bibb County Deputies Seek Suspect in Armed Gas Station Robbery

MACON, Ga. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Macon gas station.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after 7:00 a.m. on April 4 at the Sunoco gas station located at 605 Pio Nono Avenue in Macon.

Investigators say a masked individual initially spoke with the store clerk outside before following him inside the business and behind the counter. Once inside, the suspect brandished a firearm and demanded money from the register.

The clerk complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a colorful jacket, gray pants, and a red face mask.

Authorities have released a surveillance image of the suspect and are asking anyone with information about his identity or the incident to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.

The investigation remains ongoing.
